Alan Leland is an internationally recognized woodturning instructor and demonstrator.  He has won accolades from his students and his fellow woodturners for his exceptional handouts, his ability to teach and explain the various skills and techniques required to truly enjoy woodturning and most importantly his patient and thorough teaching style.  The six plus session woodturning curriculum with its’ companion woodturning lab manual, which was developed to compliment his week long turning classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School, has garnered high praise.  His work is primarily functional in nature due to his furniture background, but with an artistic flair due to his keen eye for shape and form.  He has demonstrated at many national and regional woodturning symposia and done demonstrations and workshops for many woodturning clubs across the U.S. and Canada.
